- I am very glad today to open, right here in Poltava, at this magnificent University, the Poltava representative office of Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Ukraine. It is another bit of Montenegrin land in Ukraine. Our languages and nations are very close. You know that on June 5 Montenegro is becoming a full memebr of NATO. The geniuses of Ukranian people are very close by their spirit. Dmytro Pavlychko brought a dictionary of history of Slavic languages as a gift to University library which contains Ukranian words deriving from the history of Slovakia. Therefore, history shows us that we have the same roots. I greet you all with much of affection here at the representative office of Montenegro in Ukraine in Poltava - said Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Ukraine, the President of Minor Academy of Science of Ukraine, Stanislav Dovgiy.

In his welcome note, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montenegro, Predrag Milovic stressed that this is the significant beginning of fruitful cooperation between our two countries, particularly with Poltava National Technical University.

- Dear friends, it is my distinguished honour to open, in your presence Mrs Minister Hrynevych, Mr Governor and Mr Rector, the Poltava representative office of Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Ukraine at your University. Ukraine is my other Homeland. I am ready to share new mutual projects which will in the future open big opportunities and horizons. - said Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montenegro, Predrag Milović.

The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych addressed the present audience and congratulated on the opening of the Poltava representative office of Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Ukraine.

- Dear Honorary Consuls, we are present indeeed at one great occasion, and for me it is a really great one to open the representative office at University. The best bridges that we can build in the future between our two countries – are the ones through the youth, children and young people who get their contemporary education, who live in global world and in Europe. Europe is a home for Ukraine as well as for Montenegro. I'm sure that we are more closer than we think. Ukranian and Montenegrin people haven't still completely renewed their historical themes which unite us, especially the mental ones, because both Montenegrins and Ukranians had to defend their independence and fight for their country. The entry of Montenegro in NATO for us is a great example of position which they defended in diffucult times. I especially want to thank you, Stanislav Oleksiyovych, because You create branches for understanding and mutual training. The youth that will build the future of our country and create for us conditions for a good holiday and retirement should have a different view towards the world, to find new technical solutions, to be innovative. I hope we will have more double degree programmes with Montenegrin Universities as well as greater exchange of students and professors. These territories of exchange and emphaty between our two countries and nations are precisely dedicated to this. I congratulate you to this exceptional occasion. − said the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liliya Hrynevych.

For major contribution to the development of Ukranian-Montenegrin partnership, Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Ukraine, Stanislav Dovgiy awarded the medal of „the tenth anniversary of Montenegro's independence“ to the President of Poltava Regional Public Administration, Valeriy Golovko, the Rector Poltava National Technical University, Volodymyr Onyshchenko and the President of the Students' Parliament of Poltava National Technical University, Maryna Korniyenko. Honorary Consul pointed out that the representative office must become a place for cultural exchange between Ukraine and Montenegro.

The activities of the representative office are focused on popularizing the research of educational and cultural traditions, foreign languages and the historic heritage of Montenegro, as well as the development of bilateral cooperation between the Ukrainian and Montenegrin universities.
